A very rich and atmospheric etching of the bridge in Avignon made famous by the song known by all children of a certain age
Hedley Fitton was a noted engraver and printmaker; well known for his architectural etchings. His work often included street scenes and religious buildings in London and continental Europe. In 1907 the Société des Artistes Français awarded Fitton a Gold Medal for his work.
His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, Royal Watercolour Association and at the Paris Salon.
