Examples of his work are held by the Laing Art Gallery, The National Maritime Museum, The Bank of England Museum, the Government Art Collection and Durham University.
He was a member of the Cullercoats Artist Colony and is regarded my some as the North East’s finest impressionist painters. Many of his works capture dark moody and even menacing land and seascapes.
He exhibited over 20 paintings at the Royal Academy.
